Countdown at The Piano Room

Description

Countdown ran on the ABC from 1974 to 1987 at six o'clock on a Sunday evening, and for thirteen years it was the one thing the whole country watched at the same time.

This night runs across all of it, the Australian acts the show launched and the international pop that filled the rest of the hour. Petra leads from the piano and everybody sings along. Nobody performs on their own.

Dressing for one particular year of the show is entirely optional and quietly encouraged. Bring your own drink and a plate to share, with doors open from 6.15 p.m.
